The Curriculum Renewal: Multi-grade Classroom course is focused on teaching within multi-grade classrooms, and how the draft Northwest Territories (NWT) adapted curriculum lends itself to class configurations spanning more than two grades.
This course is intended to provide helpful information to teachers on what the curriculum’s increased flexibility can offer in terms of planning for students across multiple grades.
In this 4-module course, you will:
- learn about teaching within multi-grade classrooms, both broadly and in the context of the NWT,
- hear directly from NWT teachers and students about their experiences in multi-grade classrooms,
- explore how the curriculum supports and invites multi-grade classrooms, and
- consider approaches to planning that may be particularly helpful for teachers of multi-grade classrooms.
