Responsibility for Training of Education Body Staff as to the School Handbook for Child Abuse and/or Neglect Response

The responsibility for ensuring education body staff know how to respond to student disclosures and report and respond appropriately is a shared one between Education Bodies and ECE. 

There is legislative guidance from the Child and Family Services Act (2016)Links to an external site. as outlined in the handbook and there are wise practices of how this should be applied in schools.

A Standard Operating Procedure lays out roles and responsibilities.  It should be read, understood and actioned by ECE, Superintendents, Regional Inclusive Schooling Coordinators, Principals and education body staff, especially Teachers.
