Full course description
This course is foundational for educators, administrators, and staff working in Northern and Indigenous communities. Prepared by the Department of Education, Culture and Employment, Government of the Northwest Territories, under the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence (Pillar 2.3).
Gender-based violence (GBV) affects individuals, families, and entire communities. It creates ripple effects that touch education, health, employment, and cultural continuity. Understanding GBV is not just about identifying problems—it's about recognizing our collective responsibility and our capacity to create change.
In the Northwest Territories, unique geographic, cultural, and historical factors shape how GBV occurs and how communities respond. This course honors that complexity while providing practical tools for educators, administrators, and staff who want to make a difference.
